Convenience with Responsibility
Contact lenses are a medical device. Improper care can lead to serious infections like microbial keratitis, which can permanently damage your vision.
Top 5 Safety Rules
- Never Sleep in Contacts: Unless prescribed for overnight wear, sleeping in lenses cuts off oxygen and increases infection risk by 6-8 times.
- No Water: Never rinse lenses or cases with tap water. Water contains microorganisms that can cause blindness.
- Rub and Rinse: "Rub and rinse" your lenses with solution every night, even if you use "no-rub" solution.
- Replace Your Case: Throw away your lens case every 3 months. It's a breeding ground for bacteria.
- Give Your Eyes a Break: Wear your glasses a few times a week to let your corneas breathe.
