LASIK

In LASIK, a thin flap is created on the cornea. The laser reshapes the tissue underneath, and the flap is replaced. Recovery is rapid, with most patients seeing clearly the next day.

PRK

In PRK, the outer layer of the cornea is gently removed (no flap). The laser reshapes the surface, and the outer layer grows back naturally. Recovery takes a few days longer, but it's a better option for patients with thin corneas or active lifestyles (like boxers or pilots).
