Transcript

At Eyecare Center of Orange County, Dr. Alexander Bonakdar has cared for patients for more than three decades. Trained at Bascom Palmer, board certified, and trusted by more than ten thousand Orange County patients since nineteen ninety one.

Glaucoma damages the optic nerve, the cable that carries sight from your eye to your brain. Usually the pressure inside the eye is too high for that nerve to tolerate.

Glaucoma takes your side vision first. Your brain fills in the missing area, so many people lose a great deal of field before they suspect anything at all.

High pressure is a risk factor, not the diagnosis. Some eyes are damaged at normal pressure, and others tolerate high pressure for years. We judge the nerve itself.

Damage already done cannot be reversed. Treatment protects the sight you still have, which is exactly why we look for glaucoma before you have any symptoms.

Ask us about your optic nerve. We photograph and measure it, and compare it year on year to catch change early.
