Essilor Stellest™ lenses received FDA De Novo marketing authorization (DEN250016) on September 25, 2025 — the first spectacle lens authorized by the FDA for slowing myopia progression in children ages 6 to 12 at initiation. Using exclusive H.A.L.T. technology (Highly Aspherical Lenslet Target), 1,021 invisible lenslets create a volume of myopic defocus that slows eye elongation. The US pivotal trial (FIN-3101, 9 sites) showed 71% less myopia progression and 53% less axial elongation over 2 years vs single-vision lenses. Starting at $450 per pair, with checkups every 6 months to monitor progression and update the prescription.
