About Eye Emergencies
Eye emergencies require prompt professional attention to prevent permanent vision loss. At EyeCare Center of Orange County, we reserve same-day appointment slots specifically for urgent cases — including red eyes, painful infections, sudden vision changes, foreign bodies, chemical exposure, and eye trauma. Dr. Alexander Bonakdar provides expert diagnosis and treatment when minutes matter.
Many patients instinctively go to the emergency room for eye problems, but an optometrist or ophthalmologist is far better equipped to handle most ocular emergencies. We have specialized slit-lamp microscopes, corneal staining, tonometry, and dilated fundus examination capabilities that most ERs lack. You will be seen faster, diagnosed more accurately, and treated more effectively — often at a fraction of the ER cost.
If you are experiencing sudden vision loss, eye pain, flashes of light, a curtain or shadow across your vision, chemical exposure, or a foreign object in your eye, call us immediately at (949) 323-3600. We prioritize getting you seen the same day.
