At Eyecare Center of Orange County, Dr. Alexander Bonakdar has cared for patients for more than three decades. Trained at Bascom Palmer, board certified, and trusted by more than ten thousand Orange County patients since nineteen ninety one.
A cataract is not a growth, and not a film over the eye. The lens inside your eye, which was clear, gradually becomes cloudy.
Night driving is often the first complaint. Headlights scatter into a starburst, colours look washed out, and reading needs far more light than it used to.
Nearly everyone develops cataracts if they live long enough. This is ageing, not damage or neglect, though sunlight, smoking and some medicines bring it forward.
There is no deadline. Surgery is right when the cataract starts limiting what you want to do, and that judgement is yours to make.
Ask us how much of your blur is actually the cataract. Not all of it usually is, and we can separate the causes.
