Transcript

At Eyecare Center of Orange County, Dr. Alexander Bonakdar has cared for patients for more than three decades. Trained at Bascom Palmer, board certified, and trusted by more than ten thousand Orange County patients since nineteen ninety one.

Light entering your eye passes through four things in order. The cornea, the pupil, the lens, and the clear jelly that fills the eye.

The cornea is the clear window at the front. It bends light more than any other part of the eye, so its shape decides how sharp your vision is.

The retina lines the back of the eye. It is nerve tissue, not film. Its centre, the macula, handles fine detail such as reading a face.

Your retina is the only place a doctor can look directly at blood vessels without a single cut. That is why an eye exam can reveal disease elsewhere in the body.

Ask us to show you your own retina. We can photograph it and walk you through exactly what we are looking at.
