At Eyecare Center of Orange County, Dr. Alexander Bonakdar has cared for patients for more than three decades. Trained at Bascom Palmer, board certified, and trusted by more than ten thousand Orange County patients since nineteen ninety one.
The most important rule is that water and contact lenses do not mix. No showering, swimming, or rinsing in tap water. Water carries organisms your eye cannot easily fight off.
Unless your lenses have been specifically prescribed for overnight wear, take them out before you sleep. The cornea needs oxygen overnight.
Replace your lenses on schedule, and replace the case every few months. Use fresh solution every time, and never top up what is already in the case.
If an eye becomes red, painful, or sensitive to light, take the lenses out and call us the same day. Do not wait to see whether it settles.
Call us the same day if something is wrong. An eye that hurts in a contact lens is always worth a phone call.
