Transcript

At Eyecare Center of Orange County, Dr. Alexander Bonakdar has cared for patients for more than three decades. Trained at Bascom Palmer, board certified, and trusted by more than ten thousand Orange County patients since nineteen ninety one.

Most blur is not disease. Light should come to a point exactly on the retina. If it lands in front of it, or behind it, the image blurs.

Short sight means the eye has grown slightly too long. Distance blurs while near stays clear. It usually begins in childhood and settles in the twenties.

In astigmatism the cornea is shaped a little more like a rugby ball than a football. It focuses unevenly, so everything is slightly smeared at every distance.

All three are corrected the same way, by moving the focus back onto the retina. Glasses, contact lenses and laser surgery all do exactly that.

Ask us what your own prescription means. We are happy to show you the numbers and explain what each one does.
