Blebitis is an infection of the filtering bleb following glaucoma surgery (trabeculectomy). This potentially sight-threatening complication can occur months to years after surgery and may rapidly progress to endophthalmitis if not treated immediately. Patients with history of glaucoma filtration surgery should be educated about warning signs and seek emergency care at the first indication of infection.
